The two artists awarded bursaries will be invited to spend a fortnight at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre in County Monaghan. Their stay in Annaghmakerrig House will be fully catered, and a visual arts or the print studio will be their dedicated workspace.
When
This call, opens on Thursday 27 March 2025 and closes on 24 April 2025. Two Debi O’Hehir 2025 bursary winners will be announced before the end of April. Once the bursaries are awarded, the Centre will be in contact the successful artists to find a residency time that suits their schedules.

Visual Art | The Anita Young Bursary for a Mid-Career Painter, in association with the RHA and the RUA
The Tyrone Guthrie Centre is the beneficiary of a bequest from the Estate of artist and former resident, Anita Young (d. 2018). Following the stipulations of the bequest, we have established bursaries in Anita’s name with the RHA and the RUA. The bursary is offered to ‘mid-career’ painters and consists of a two-week residency in our Big House, fully catered, with use of a visual art studio or print studio, for an artist selected from the annual RHA exhibition and an artist selected from the annual RUA exhibition. The RHA and the RUA offer travel expenses to the winners and will be selected from the annual RHA and RUA exhibitions; The Anita Young Bursary will run annually until the annual exhibitions 2025.
Dance | The McB Bursary for a Dancer or Choreographer on the Island of Ireland in association with Dance Ireland
Funded through an anonymous donor to The Tyrone Guthrie Centre, this bursary offers a two-week residency to a dancer or choreographer on the island of Ireland. The specific focus of the bursary changes from year to year, but it is focused on creating space for a dancer or choreographer who might not otherwise have an opportunity to take time out at The Tyrone Guthrie Centre.
