Facilities

In addition to the glorious grounds and gardens of the Tyrone Guthrie Centre there are a number of other facilities to enhance your stay, which all guests can enjoy.

The Library

The library is available for residents' use. The collection includes the original Annaghmakerrig library with volumes acquired by the Moorhead, Power and Guthrie families over a period of a hundred and fifty years. The poetry library is to be found outside Guthrie's Study and books are shelved according by author and/or editor.

Please note that painting equipment is not allowed in the Library.

Drawing Room

The drawing room is available for residents' use, and is often used for collaborations, readings and talks.  Apart from the many books in the drawing room there is also an eclectic collection of CD’s and tapes, a video/DVD player, a monitor and Lady Guthrie’s Obermeier grand piano.

Please note that painting equipment is not allowed in the Drawing Room.

Dedicated Studios

In addition to the rooms in the Big House, each of which has a writing desk and a chair, we have a number of different studios that provide specialist facilities for particular artforms including visual art, printmaking, film, music, dance and performance. You can read more about these studios in this section.
