Death of Colm Ó'Briain

Everyone at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre is sad to hear of the death of Colm Ó Briain. As Director of the Arts Council, Colm's vision, energy, and enthusiasm ensured that Sir Tyrone Guthrie's vision of a workplace for artists became a reality in 1981. For four decades artists from Ireland and abroad have benefitted from Colm's pioneering work. His commitment to the Centre never wavered and just a year ago he attended the Annual General Meeting; in two weeks' time we will honour his memory at this year's AGM.

We remember Colm with gratitude and affection and we send our condolences to Colm's wife Muireann, to his daughters Seóna and Aisling, and to his family and friends.
