We announce our Debi O’Hehir Bursary for a Painter or Sculptor in the Island of Ireland

The Tyrone Guthrie Centre is the beneficiary of monies in memory of artist and frequent resident, Debi O'Hehir (1962-2015), with which we have established a 5 year bursary in her name. The bursary will offer one artist - painter or sculptor - living and working on the island of Ireland, the opportunity to avail of a two week residency in our Big House, with use of a studio. The first award will be announced in December 2021, with the winner availing of the opportunity in 2022.

We are seeking applicants from emerging, recent, mid, and late career artists, and from across all cultural communities on the island of Ireland. The peer panel for 2021/22 is visual arts curator, Eamonn Maxwell, Dr Éimear O'Connor HRHA, visual arts curator and Resident Director of The Tyrone Guthrie Centre, and Kim Mawhinney, Ulster Museum and member of our Board of Directors.

The winner will be chosen from a shortlist created by the panel, with the addition of Siobhan O'Hehir. Closing date - 5pm on 30 November 2021. Applicants must be over the age of 18.
